Pipe Welding 120 Joints,
120 Joints,
One Weekend
The Challenge
A food processing plant in Queens had a 54-hour shutdown window to replace corroded carbon lines with 304 stainless — overhead runs, washdown zones and a hard Monday 5am restart. Any missed joint meant lost production.
Our Approach
Two crews leapfrogged the line: one cutting and fitting ahead, one welding behind with purged TIG roots. Every joint was numbered on an isometric map, hydro-tested in sections and signed off with the plant engineer before handover — 42 hours in, 12 hours ahead of schedule.
- 120 purged TIG joints, 2 to 6 inch
- Two-crew leapfrog sequence
- Sectional hydro-tests, witnessed
- Full isometric weld-map turnover
