Pipe Welding Gas On,
Gas On,
Opening Night Safe
The Challenge
A new 90-seat restaurant needed black-iron gas run to six ranges, two fryers and a wok station — threaded where code allows, welded where it counts — with the Department of Buildings sign-off gated on a witnessed pressure test ten days before opening.
Our Approach
We routed the run tight to the ceiling to protect headroom, welded the mains with full-pen joints, installed accessible shutoffs at every station and held test pressure overnight with gauges photographed morning and night. The inspector passed it on the first visit, nine days before the doors opened.
- Welded black-iron mains, threaded drops
- Shutoff at every cooking station
- Overnight pressure test, documented
- First-visit DOB sign-off
